James Glasheen is an Independent Financial Advisor based in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire.

Having worked within a number of large national banks and IFAs for many years he decided to start his own business in mid-2016.

His new business had been going for nearly a year before we met again (after knowing him for many years from networking events across the region) and he started to ask me about ways his website could possibly bring him more clients.

I first did some work to improve the search engine optimisation of his website and when he was happy with the initial results on that, we then moved on to talk about the design of his site overall.

I explained to him the issues with his current site, not only in its design but in its performance, and went through some ideas I had on how it could be improved. He then asked me to put these ideas into practice and redevelop his website for him.

Of course, the main reason people invest in a website is to attract more business. Due to a combination of the work done in SEO and redesigning the website, James’ website has made tremendous gains in Google in just a couple of months.

James Glasheen Financial Planning Ltd is now (at the time of writing in early October 2017) ranking 5th on Page 1 of Google for three of our four targeted search terms – and in the critical Top 3 positions in the Map Results for two.

One key search term, “Financial Advisor Huddersfield” has risen 21 places in Google (to 5th on Page 1) in just a little over two months.

Going forward these positions can rise, fall, or remain about the same, depending on activity.

Unfortunately, this site was no longer live as of early 2023 after the business owner retired and sold his business to another Financial Advisor company.
