Gravitas Contracts are a premium construction contractor operating in London and the Home Counties.

The company was established by Craig Mitchell in 2013, with a foundation of 30 years experience, connections and clients in the industry.

He has a wealth of experience in all types of projects, both residential and commercial, but in recent years the focus has been toward ‘High End’ residential, for both developers and private clients.

A big focus of his business is in the redevelopment of buildings previously used as office premises, into residential properties. Known as ‘Office to Resi’ developments.

There was no previous website for this business, but Craig had the logo already designed and so I took the lovely bright colours in this as a starting point for the design.

I always like to introduce something a little bit different into a new design, something I’ve never used before.

For this website, I decided to break away from the standard straight division between different sections on a website and to go for a more fluid, curved divider at the bottom of the header section and the top of the footer. This is something that I’m sure will become more commonplace as time goes on, but it wasn’t so much at the time.

Another feature new to this design is the animated grid section of Project images halfway down the Home Page. Clicking on any image will take you directly to that particular Project page.
