Barrington was recommended to me by an existing client, and I immediately remembered that he’d mentioned him in conversation several years ago. Barrington has an amazing and accomplished background, which you can read more about on the Our Story page of his new site.
After some time away from the food business, he began to feel increasingly drawn back into it, encouraged by friends to follow his true passion once again. He decided to revive some products that had won him awards at the Great Taste Awards 2016 and add more to create his new Barringtons Chef Crafted range of Caribbean-inspired soul food.
I was very fortunate that this project began with a fantastic foundation of already having some great branding in place, created by one of Barrington’s good friends who is a professional designer. The labelling and graphics she created are highlighted on the website Home Page in particular, but also provide the cornerstones for the rest of the site.
As with all my other eCommerce sites, the online store is once again powered by WooCommerce, but there are some different features in this store, as there usually are in each different site I create.
The most notable is the ‘slide out’ shopping basket, cart, which you can see a screenshot of further down on this page.
It also has added Cart Abandonment follow-up set up, which will send three emails in three days if a person adds an item to the shopping cart, but then fails to complete their order. These are ‘soft’ follow-up emails, offering help and assistance if they had any problem placing their order.
As this site offers a consumable product I also added some future functionality for automated follow-up emails, X weeks or months after the customer makes a purchase.
I am really pleased with how this site looks and functions and I hope it leads to some good online sales once we start to attract consistent visitor numbers to it. Which is of course a totally different/separate matter!
